The annual
Variety Bash is Australia’s
most successful charity motoring event and is the focal point
of fund raising efforts by many thousands of supporter’s
nation wide. The Variety WA Bash began in 1989 and has since
raised in excess of $9 million dollars for our special needs
kids.
Full of camaraderie and non stop fun, the Bash is neither
a race, nor a rally. The most important part of any Bash is
putting smiles on the faces of the local children by visiting
local schools, hospitals, children and families to grant donations
of much needed equipment and facilities in regional areas
along the way.
Entry into the bash is limited to those with sufficient cunning,
resolve, determination and intelligence to persuade sponsors,
family and friends to come up with a suitable amount of donations
made payable to Variety WA – the children’s charity.
Participants in the Bash must have a pre-1975 vehicle and
a minimum donation. The challenge is also put on by Variety
for participants to raise above and beyond the minimum donation.
Car 79 – Mr Men is looking forward to its first year
participating in this fun and very successful charity motoring
event and is certainly taking the challenge to raise as much
funds as possible – all of which will be donated to
Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA.
